why are we "skaterina" ?
we are Kappy, Kathy, Mrs. Hunter, La Senora, a grandma with a name
given her by the baby, Happy Trail Cat and Katherine the rad granny
we are Skaterina bc she was fulfilling a long time ambition
to take ice skating lessons when she was 63
coincidentally she got a WebTV box and took to the
information super highway
she joined an email list set up by a web designer guru
she became part of an on.line community
that was almost 20 years ago
one of the members dubbed her Skaterina
the name stuck and held
her first blog was called Skaterina
she had a companion blog for food and recipes called
Caterina Cacciatore, her name in Italian
when an entity was discovered in her echocardiogram
it quickly became Miss Tickle
Skaterina made a page for her too on her blogspot account
Miss Tickle is the drummer girl who keeps Skaterina's heart
tickling nicely
she wears a pointy hat
the pointy hat was first noticed by Skaterina's daughter
known as Darling Daughter (DD)
then Skaterina was diagnosed with cancer
she decided to have Miss Tickle write about her and for her
and her experience with cancer
Skaterina thought Miss Tickle wd give her a measure of detachment
as she navigated her way to her senior moments
wait !
what about KnitterMe ?
KnitterMe was her first phrenia
she was the one who learned how to knit, sew, crochet, weave,
all that good stuff
Kappy was in grade school then and was happy to have a Knitting Body
later when the knitting body got smart and knew how to spin her own yarn
and design her own knittings and weavings
she became KnitterMe
she needed a suitable name for a knitters' online list
she doesnt want her own page
will stick Skaterina with her needles if she gives her one
then there is
mrsfoley who remains to be seen or will be seen in the remains
