morning minutiae
Skaterina decided to get back in bed with her morning coffee to knit
and listen to the NPR, or a book before getting up
the NPR is raising money to she puts on the book
All the Light We Cannot See
she is cosy and warm and shaping the gusset on the second tweedy sock
which means that when both gussets are done she can start a new pair
she feels comfy ! cosy !
this is something she never does
she is always up and atom dressed and ready to roll
then
she sees Juanita going across the back yard, heading for the fence
where she goes through to the neighrors yard and the rest of Juanita's
"territory"
Skaterina junps up
opens the door (every room in her house has a door to the outside !)
and calls Juanita !
shoot, she thinks, this is the designated day to STFU and enter the silence
that is, stop talking, speaking, using the old voice
Juanita doesnt respond anyway / disappears
Skateina puts on trousers, slippers, the ones Joelle made for her, and goes
out to get Juanita
who is notorious with the animal control folks
she is the most busted dog in town
also the most known and most cute and most everything
well, doesnt this just take the cake, thinks Skaterina
this is just the sort of activity that has caused her to have cancer !
yes it is
allowing others to be more important and more significant than she is !
no sign of Juanita until Skaterina is around to the front where Juanita
then willingly runs into the house where she will have her food
she eats at Skaterina's while she spends most of her time at the DD's and S.O.L's
she is The Family Dog
and the Center of the Universe
she is the Doggess of UnBridled Joy
makes her people happy and laugh a lot
sooooo
Skaterina, now no longer cosy and warm, helter sketler dressed
rustles up Juanita's grub
we will address the issue of Dog Grub at another time
okay
dog is fed
Skaterina gets back in bed
knitting meditation turns into go to sleep meditation
when she wakes up the second time she still feels comfy and cosy
only having to pee will get me up now, she thinks
or, she also thinks, she can just wet the bed
then they will think she is incontinent
like her mother
well, shucks, Mama was incontinent most of her life
one time over at the nursing home Skaterina helped Mama to the toilet
Mama said, this is why i am in here, isnt it ?
uh, yes
so Skaterina does her Kegels
she wil knit some more and not get up until she is .........
