dealing with drool
always have a handkerchief says Mrs Geezer at the meat shop
Skaterina keeps a handkerchief just for drool at night time
she puts a corner of the handkerchief in her mouth, on the right side, so her lips
can hold it in place
when the drool gets going the handkerchief soaks it up
so it wont get her pillow wet
she has learned that the right side is the most likely to be the drool side
she sleeps on her right side when she doesnt sleep on her back
she wonders if she turned on to her left what the drool would......
nevermind !
excessive salivation has many possible causes
kidneys, liver, living in the desert
Skaterina believes that her case of excessive salivation plus drool
is due to dehydration
she has lived in the desert long enough and in enough deserts to know that
hydration is of utmost importance
drying out will make sick or can kill you
the first sign of dehydration is chapped lips
since Skaterina is faithful to creaming her face with desert appropriate creams
her lips never really chap / well, not so she noticed lately
when she was drinking (red wine in the winter, gin in the summer) and smoking
the green goddess she used to wake up in the night with her mouth all stuck
together
she thought it was from the drugs and alcohol
letting those habits go did not change the dehydration
fooey
so what did she do ?
start drinking more water ?
you would think so, wouldnt you ?
not her
although she was accustomed to hauling water from assorted springs up in the
La Sals and in the town area and getting it herself she just didnt do it anymore !
she sorta like forgot / it was a necessity on Wilson Mesa when she lived there
there is a filter on the kitchen water here in town
she presumed that was okay
but the water here is HARD
and not so tasty
she just stopped drinking tap water
she drinks coffee, if you really want to know
this morning during morning minutiae meditation
it suddenly dawned on her the the tap water was the problem
and so was she
in jig time she and darling daughter were heading out of town to Kane Springs
one of the most colorful roads / bumpety bumpety bump / and popular with
campers and tourists
they went in the big truck
once more marveled at the stunning landscape surrounding them and truly the
reason they choose to live here
home again with 3 6gal containers
DD sets up a crock on Skaterina's kitchen counter
fills it with fresh Kane Creek spring water
and we are in business
now Skaterina can drink water all day
and she will until she feels like eating again
