we added a couple of big gobs of amaranth

grains to the soup

the amaranth was simmered first in beef broth

these grains are almost as tiny as teff grains

teff is the world's smallest grain or seed

well!

meanwhile both teff and amaranth make good extender

for meat loaf / you know / instead of bread crumbs or oatmeal

yes, they have to be cooked first so use leftovers for the meat loaf
