symptoms and signs
symptoms are SUBjective
signs are OBjective
what does this mean ?
a symptom may be a tickle, a tweak, a twinge felt only by the person feeling it
a symptom indicates something is going on / the person must figure out what it means / a symptom is like a clue
the tickle, tweak, or twinge could also produce a sign
a tickle may be an itch that can produce a sign
like a rash
which can be objectively observed by someone other than the body that has the rash/itch
the problem with symptoms is that the person noticing or experiencing the symptom doesnt always know that it IS a symptom
like when Skaterina didnt recognize dehydration as a symptom of cancer
nowhere has she ever noticed cancer connected to dehydration
she does know that living in the desert dehydration is always a possible sign of impending death
or at least / extreme discomfort
not to mention feeling worn out and bored
OhNo Say It Isnt So
Skaterina is bored ????
