Stuck Stumped Stupified

Stymied

we dont know what to do

so we (Skaterina's assorted Altered Egos) gather to listen to an audio presentation by the Coalition fo Cancer Survivors

the first thing we learn is that cancer is not an emergency

this means we have time to ... er um ... get over the shock, collect our wits, and do the necessary research into the type of cancer we have and the treatments that would be indicated and the place where we will go to ...... get better ?

this all seems rather daunting so KnitterMe picks up the bobble hat and continues knitting / Caterina gets the dishpan full of unwashed canning jars out from under the sink where Skaterina has hidden it / Miss Tickle puts on some music

Skaterina sits in the rocking chair next to the heater (good god, it is cold here) and surveys her kitchen / this is her favorite kitchen of all the kitchens she has had and there have been many / her life seems full of kitchens oozing with aromas and memories

she treasures her belongings / her stuff / the ceramic hand on the window sill / it was form for making rubber gloves / there are four of them / she got them at an auction in Vermont when her friend, Kate, came for the summer

dressed in their painted baby dresses for middle aged women and their straw hats they browsed the stores in the back of the auction where they discovered the ceramic hands and fell in love with them and had to have them

Skaterina asked the manager to bring them up soon and so he did / the auctioneer called out Who Will Give Me ONe Hundred Dollars and Skaterina shouted back I WILL and they were hers

that's the way it goes / say what you want and pay for it willingly

or something like that
