a good friend sent her a book called A Knitting Sutra / it was all about a love affair with knitting

What's this ?  strange person writing about MY love affair  ? She couldnt read it

Sskaterina feels that her cancer is hers !  Hers alone !

She named the tongue lump Pearlina when she saw the closeup picture taken by the doctor putting a little camera down her nose / or up her nose / as the case may be

Pearlina was pink and luminescent / she glowed, signalling that something was afoot or ... amouth

Like the red flag sent up by the cervical cancer cells / hey hey hey there / come and look / and dont forget to check your blood pressure, baby, for cancer on the cervix may be the least of your troubles

Think Silent Killer i.e. stroke

she survived that

good for her

now she doesnt exactly think she is having a love affair with her cancer as she does with knitting / she does see her cancer as unique to her, as everyone else's cancer is unique to them

she is not really interested in anyone else's cancer or in their experience with it or rather not any more so than she is interested in anyone else's knitting 

she loves to see other knittings / she doesnt immediately want to do the same knitting even as she asks what size needle they used

she recognizes that other cancers are as interesting and meaningful to their persons as Pearlina is to her / she doesnt want to compare notes or discuss what's going on or what might be going on or what might happen with someone else who may or may not have the "same thing"

She doesnt !
