Squashed gumption
hippie friends of the motorcycle man
told him that since Skaterina was "older"
(she was 42 and MM was 35)
that she must have been a beatnik
didnt beatniks predate hippies ?
and
Bohemians predated beatniks
as a matter of fact the ships doctor
on the freighter described her as a
bohemian
Skaterina is smiling right now at all this
bc she describes Darling Daughters local peer group
as "Aging Hippies"
Skaterina recalls she and the Actor lived in New York City
during the big beatnik phase
they raced down to the Village to see and hear a poet
say fuck in public

before NYC was a brief spell in grad school for him

she had them on to accompany the not yet Actor
to a grad school function

took his orders re her clothes
