moning nap time !

why are we doing this ?

going through all this pain ?

just to live longer so KnitterMe can knit socks ?

although she must not ~stop~ knitting socks

as she has developed some new tricks that say :

Improvahokiness !

for example :

there are at least three and sometimes 4 strands of yarn

hanging down at the cuff edge left from the "long tail" cast on

she uses them to mark the center back of the sock

when the sock is completely knitted, Kitchenered and all

she braids those strands into a little pigtail

this is her "signature"

it can be used by the wearer to attach a courage button

or other lucky charm

it can be tucked into the cuff and do some of that wonderful "nothing"

in the meantime

while she is still knitting the sock

she puts it away for a rest

she rolls the unfinished sock up around the ball of yarn

winds the dangling participles around to hold it closed

and in place

then sticks a needle in to it

she is extremely pleased with these balls of unfinished socks

it gives their unfinished state a finished look

like

we havent forgotten you
