Eats !
we now have jars of food for Skaterina
in the ice box
like little jars of baby food
the ones for Skaterina are widemouth pint jars
if she is feeling casual she can eat right out of the jar !
today there is the tasty Golden Drink
Wheaties with peaches and coconut cream
Skaterina is ecstatic
it has been suggested that
Caterina puree whatever Skaterina
fancies and let it go at that
you mean puree a lobster roll ?
let's talk steak tartare
too spicey
Cannibal Sandwiches !
she grew up on those
great aunt Maudie had an in with the butcher
who chopped extra lean sirloin
to be spread on toasted buttered bread
topped with chopped onion
so we chop a lot of sweet onion finely
fino fino fino
make a pile on the cutting board
spread raw meat on lightly buttered toast
(we are thinking extra thin Pepperidge farm white bread
toasted, crusts cut off, rolled thinner with great aunt Maudie's
rolling pin or even / hang on / raisin bread !)
turn that baby upside down
press the meat side into the finely chopped onions
sprinkle with good salt
great aunt Maudie said the salt is needed for digestion
huh !
now Caterina recalls making vegetable pate when she was making all
their own juices
this wd be carrot, celery, fennel, apple, beet
take the vegetable debris left over from the juice extraction
combine with ground up nuts of your choice like cashews
there you have it
bon apetito
or as we say around la casa nostra
mangia bene e tutta la famiglia
