Caterina jumps out of bed in the night

she remembers buying cous cous

but not how to cook it

googles it up

runs out in the dark to pick sage

to make sage butter for the cous cous

which turns out a little dry but will be perfect

for the thawed out broth tomorrow

and there are blue berry scones in the oven !

Skaterina kept telling Caterina to stop browsing

the Tastespotting site

"i cant eat any of that stuff" she cried

but here is the easiest scone recipe ever

it only makes enough for two

but wait there are SIX wedges there

and the blue berries are so fat they are rolling around on the cookie sheet

wow

Skaterina is sure the scone dough will stick to her roof

and make Sophie the Soft Palate annoyed

just like the fancy pancakes

the ones with the secret ingredient that makes diner pancakes

so tasty and fluffy

the secret ingredient is malted milk powder

which required a special trip to the super market

and sure enough the pancakes were so fluffy they

stuck to Skaterina's roof and Sophie complained

until the Water Pik was called on to blast the dough

right out of there
