enlightenment is sneaking in

doesnt always come like a bolt of lightning

or turned on by a glowing light bulb

or is an epiphany when one suddenly "gets it"

maybe, like clarity, it comes at the climax of a long walk

it isnt that Skaterina hasnt something "good" to eat

it's that she is not able to eat what she used to eat

first, whatever she is to eat has to be a tiny bite

the Grandson had a hot dog the other day

in a bun

with the works

Skaterina loved a good hot dog when she was skating

the Grandson's hot dog had it's compelling aroma

yeah!  reminded her of the fun days at the rink

is it possible to have a "tiny bite" of a hot dog in a bun


methinks not, sez Mrsfoley


but, she says, you can put a dab of mustard on the plate

a spoonful of the sweet relish you like there too

cut the dog up in little pieces and the bun too

and
