Turmeric

"Turmeric (the yellow powder that is one of the components of yellow curry) is the most powerful natural antiinflammatory identified today.  It also helps stimulate apoptosis in cancer cells and inhibit angiogenesis.  In the laboratory, it enhances the effectiveness of chemotherapy and reduces tumor growth." *

Imagine what it can do for you if you skip the chemo !

the potency of turmeric is reinforced by black pepper and olive oil (or some other oil like canola or linseed)

Mix 1/4 tsp turmeric powder with 1/2 TB olive oil and a generous pinch of black pepper / add to vegetables, soups, and salad dressings

or just have it on a beautiful ripe organic tomato

or on a cracker (watch out for those CheeZits)

~~~~~~
apoptosis is (briefly) the suicide of cells / turmeric stimulates this process and helps cancer cells commit sewerpipes, as my dear mother would say
isnt that cool
angiogenesis is the process cancer cells use to create new blood vessels which they need to feed themselves / turmeric inhibits this process thus reducing the growth of the tumors
~~~~~~~

turmeric is available as a fresh root, a powder, a tincture

fresh roots are similar to ginger roots but smaller / scrub them a little, chop 'em up, toast in olive oil with some black pepper and add to stir fries, salads, soup

we are using a lot of the powder /  when we share soups / we are asked Why is it so Yellow ?  heh

turmeric will dye everything including the counter tops

come to think of it yellow is the symbolic color of healing

we are so lucky to have a friend who is a botanicalist ? She makes tincture of turmeric / drops in water are divine !

Healing can be delicious and exciting

*quote is from Anti Cancer / A New Way of LIfe by David Servan-Schreiber, MD, PhD / an excellent book on cancer and how to heal and how to prevent it through nutrition and changing the environment of your body

Mrs Foley says it is an exciting book and well worth having one on hand whether you have cancer or not
